Is Downtown Salt Lake City a neighborhood or a destination? Downtown Salt Lake is the metropolitan center of the Wasatch Front, a major job center, a cultural and religious hub, and Utah’s capital city. The Downtown master plan is a 16-month effort to craft a vision for the future of the Downtown, chart a roadmap for reaching that future, shape the built environment, and evaluate our progress. It will provide an example of how a community master plan can fulfill local and regional goals, accommodating growth, providing choice, and raising design standards.
